Founding History

The founding of the Sarum Sanguinary Angels is a direct result of the ideals and values embodied by the late Empress Jamyl I. After her death, House Sarum sought a way to preserve her legacy while continuing to expand its military might. Arrach Sarum, the current head of the house, recognised the need for an elite unit that was not only trained for battle, but would also uphold the spiritual and moral values of Jamyl. Thus the Sarum Sanguinary Angels were created - a military brotherhood made up of the best warriors in the Empire.

However, the unit is still being formed. Its ranks are not yet complete, and the search for worthy members is in full swing. Only the most loyal and capable fighters of the Amarr Empire are to join this exalted group. But such a unit needed a steadfast leader - someone who had both military experience and a strong belief in the principles of House Sarum. The choice fell on Lucius Aquila Sarrius. (NPC)

Lucius was a Capsuleer, an immortal warrior who could be reborn indefinitely through the blessing of technology. He originally served as an admiral in the Imperial Fleet and had proven himself in numerous battles against the Minmatar rebels and other enemies of the Empire. He had known Jamyl I personally and swore to protect her legacy - a commitment he never broke.

When Arrach Sarum was looking for a suitable leader for the Sarum Sanguinary Angels, his eyes inevitably fell on Lucius. His past, his unwavering faith and his undeniable military skills made him the perfect choice. But Lucius was not a man who took orders blindly. Before he took over the leadership, he made one condition: He wanted absolute freedom of choice with regard to this elite unit. Arrach recognised the necessity of this demand and agreed. Lucius Aquila Sarrius thus became the first Marshal Commander of the Sarum Sanguinary Angels. Under his leadership, the unit now begins to form...

But not everyone in the Empire viewed the Sarum Sanguinary Angels with favour. Some members of other noble houses saw them as a threat, as a fanatical force that could rise up. Rumours of political intrigue spread. Lucius knows that his enemies lurk not only on the battlefields, but also in the high ranks of the Empire. But as long as he is at the head of the Angels, he will ensure that their mission is never betrayed.

The story of the Sarum Sanguinary Angels is just the beginning of a new chapter for House Sarum. With Lucius Aquila Sarrius as their leader, the Sarum Sanguinary Angels are ready to defend the legacy of Empress Jamyl I with fire and blood - to the last breath.'
